PV Election Results
The unofficial results are in and the margins of victory are razor thin. Republican Supervisor Jacqueline Annabi has been reelected with 1,428 votes, 11 more than those cast for her opponent, Alison Jolicoeur, who ran on the Democratic and Working Together lines. Jolicoeur ran a spirited campaign that earned her sympathy from some voters because of a property rights dispute with the town over how she accesses her home in Lake Peekskill. But Annabi's long experience running the town appears to have been sufficient to overcome that. Because of anticipated changes to the state's calendar for local elections, the Town Supervisor position will likely be up for reelection next fall.
The two town board members who will be starting a three-year term in January are Christian Russo, an incumbent Republican who won with 1,527 votes, and Stacey Tompkins, an incumbent Republican who received 1,484 votes. The third candidate, CJ Brooks, who was running on the Democratic and Working Together lines, received 1,470 votes.
Shawn Keeler, who ran uncontested for Highway Superintendent on the Democratic and Conservative lines, was reelected with 99% of the votes. The Putnam County Sheriff will be Republican Brian Hess.
Voter turnout in this election was about the same as in the 2023 election, which was the last opportunity Putnam Valley voters had to choose their town board representatives. Voter turnout this year was 33%, compared to 34% in 2023.
