Campaign Finance Update
In the final disclosure period before Election Day, a few items were noteworthy:
• On October 13th, two days after Watching Putnam Valley published a story raising questions about a $30,000 contribution made by the Putnam Valley Republican Committee to the Byrne for County Executive Committee, the Byrne campaign transferred $40,000 to the Putnam County Republican Committee. That large infusion gave the county GOP a balance of $48,407 before the end of the campaign period.

• On October 19th, five days after Watching Putnam Valley published a story noting that Town Justice Robert Nachamie had not registered his campaign with the state Board of Elections, as is required, he did so. His filing does not, however, provide information about the money his campaign received or spent.
• In a departure from the norm, Putnam Valley's Democratic Committee ended up with a closing balance this election cycle of $5,008, higher than that of the Putnam Valley Republican Committee which had $3,370 left in its coffers.
