April 1st at 5:30pm - Annual egg hunt at Leonard Wagner Memorial Park with crafts, music, dancing and food

April 4th from 2pm to 3:30pm - New York State and the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, a presentation by Rob Buccheri, a local teacher and reenactor, at the Putnam Valley Library. Register here

April 7th from 4:30pm to 5:30pm - American Revolution in the Hudson Highlands, a presentation by the Putnam History Museum for children ages 6-12 at the Putnam Valley Library. Register here

April 10th at 6pm - "Remembering When Tompkins Corners Was a Church", a celebration of Tompkins Corners' 11th anniversary with cake, music and shared memories. To reserve for the party (donations appreciated), click here

April 18th from 8am to 9am - Tour of compost facility Sustainable Materials Management in Cortlandt Manor. Reserve here

April 18th from 10am to 4pm - AARP driver safety course taught by Michael Moculski at the Putnam Valley Library. Attending the entire class is required to be eligible for insurance discounts and points reduction. Register here, with $25 cost for AARP members and $30 for non-members. Bring a bag lunch, a pen and maybe a cushion

April 18th from 1pm to 3pm - Feed chickens your food scraps at Cucumber Hill Farm

April 18th at 7:30pm - "Too Blue", a bluegrass and swing band at Tompkins Corners Cultural Center. Tickets are $25

April 23 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm - Learn how PV's school district is saving millions of dollars with its clean energy strategy and is on track to be the first district in the country with zero oil consumption. A presentation by Dave Spittal, the district's Director of Operations. Register here

April 24th from 1oam to noon - Go on a tree and forest-ecology themed hike of Granite Mountain with the Hudson Highlands Land Trust. Register here

April 25th from 9am to 11am - Meet at 8:45am at the Lake Peekskill Cafe/LP Post Office for a community clean-up, "recycling hike" hosted by the Lake Peekskill Civic Association

April 25th from 9am to 2pm- First annual PV Road Rally – a driving (but not racing) tour and scavenger hunt through town with a picnic/barbecue at the library upon return. Fundraiser organized by the Friends of Putnam Valley Library, register here for $25 tickets

April 25th from 10am to noon - Join a family-friendly 1-mile hike around Pelton Pond with the Rewilding School, followed by a post-hike fire and BYO snacks for roasting. Meet at 9:45am at the Pelton Pond parking lot in Fahnestock State Park

April 26th at 7am - Birdwatching in the wetland habitat behind PV Town Park with naturalist Pete Salmonsohn from Hudson Highlands Audubon Society. For ages 7 and up, register here. (BYO binoculars.)

April 26th from 10am to noon - Coffee and bagels at Tompkins Corners Cultural Exchange, with a free puppet show, “One Earth So Green and Round”, at 11am
